Frequently Asked Questions

Shipping Questions

Our dispatched truck driver will pick your vehicle up from the origin, and drop it off at the destination, (or as close to your home as they can legally and safely get).

Many large cities have restrictions on large trucks that prohibit them from driving through residential areas.

If access to your home is restricted by:
  • Narrow streets
  • Dirt roads (“back-roads”)
  • Roads with tight turns
  • Low-hanging trees
  • Speed bumps
  • Apartment complex parking lots

Then, our dispatched driver may ask that you meet them with their truck at a public parking lot, such as a grocery store, so they can safely deliver your vehicle as close to your home as possible.

You will receive a call directly from our dispatched driver if these alternative arrangements are necessary.

Open Shipment is a method of transportation in which your car is transported on a carrier that is exposed to outside elements such as sunlight, rain, wind, dust, etc.

It is a safesecure, and affordable way of transporting your vehicle. For example, brand-new cars arriving at a dealership will use “open shipping” or “open carry”.

Enclosed Shipment is a method of shipment in which the vehicle is transported in a trailer that completely surrounds and protects the vehicle from natural elements. It is often desired for owners of collector cars and used for luxury, vintage, classic, custom, and/or sports cars.
No, you don’t need to be.

You personally don’t need to be there, but it is highly recommended that you have someone over the age of 18 at both pickup and dropoff locations.

At both pickup and delivery, you or your representative will need to inspect the vehicle and mark any damage on the Bill of Lading before signing it. At pickup, you should be looking for any pre-existing damage and at delivery, you can note any new damage that occurred during transport.

If you are unable to be present at pick-up and dropoff, you can pre-arrange for both by leaving your vehicle’s key under the driver’s side doormat, for example.

Please get in touch with a dispatch expert for more details.

Yes. Enter the most specific information you have. You can also let us know your pickup and delivery zip codes and we can still give you an accurate qutoe.

Yes, but you must provide proof or documentation of the storage facility receipt to verify that all bills are settled and our dispatched driver can properly deliver to the storage facility or dealership.

You should have at least 1/4 tank of gasoline in your vehicle’s tank to ensure proper transportation.

Yes!

We allow personal belongings to be stored in your vehicle during its shipment.

Your items can be stored in the back seat and trunk, as long as your belongings are properly secured below the bottom of the window line.

Yes!

However, the roof rack must be removed and put inside the back seat or trunk of the vehicle for safety requirements.

If it cannot be easily removed and you need help, let us know and we can help.

If the roof rack is a permanent accessory, depending on the vehicle’s height with the roof rack attached to the top of the vehicle,  the overall premium may be higher to account for accommodated space for the vehicle’s size.
If your vehicle is inoperable, our driver will have to use special tools to load and unload the vehicle.

Be aware that if any vehicle is booked as operable and becomes inoperable before or at the time of booking/transportation, the transportation cost will be higher because the original truck may not be able to accommodate the shipment.

If there is any doubt about whether the car will start when our dispatched driver gets there, give us a call and we’ll discuss options.

No, we just need your vehicle and the keys.

Yes, we can help transport oversized or large trucks and custom vehicles.

Insurance Questions

An Inland Marine Cargo Insurance Policy of up to $100,000 – $400,000 is provided by our dispatched motor carrier that transports your vehicle and may be subject to some exclusions and limitations.

No, you do not need to pay anything extra for insurance. All federally-required insurance is included.

No, you don’t need to have a pre-existing insurance policy.

It is recommended, but not required.
Your vehicle will be fully insured by our dispatched carrier’s cargo and liability policies.

Personal items inside the car are not covered by our dispatched carrier’s insurance.

Be advised that personal items can damage the interior of your car due to possible shifting caused by vibrations on the road. Any damages to the interior caused by personal items are not covered by the carrier’s cargo insurance policy.
